Making a Stand on Candidates’ Platforms

Of all the L.A. mayoral candidates’ proposed solutions to fund additional police, Bernard Parks’ idea for improved fiscal and personnel management is the most logical and voter-friendly. To enhance that position with financial aid, a modest surcharge on all city fines and penalties could be implemented to assist mitigation of the law enforcement dilemma. Similarly, to pacify Sheriff Lee Baca, the above suggestion might be instituted countywide.

Why do the venues continue to neglect the other viable candidate, Walter Moore? Perhaps because he is the only one who is able to buck the establishment, not being a career politician beholden to special interests. He is the only candidate against illegal immigration and willing to do something to stop it and its disastrous effects.

His platform also includes: stop welfare for the rich; hire enough police; repeal the business tax, rent control and excessive regulations; stop the $11.5-billion LAX remodeling; stop using the DWP to tax citizens without their approval; end the city’s apartheid policy toward the Valley; and let all parents send their children to private schools.

He also supports “no kill” animal shelters and no new taxes, no new bonds, no exceptions.
