Japan’s Economy Shrinks 0.1% in Quarter

Japan’s economy shrank 0.1% during the quarter ended Dec. 31 compared with the previous three months, the government said, as numbers were revised to show three straight quarters of contraction.
Cabinet Office figures for gross domestic product -- or the value of goods and services produced in a nation -- showed the world’s second-largest economy contracted 0.5% in annualized terms for the October-to-December period.
