Everyone Has an Opinion

Thanks! With the continued dumbing-down of the Sunday Opinion section, I can now skim through it in five minutes, rather than taking 30 to 60 minutes of my valuable time. Lots of cartoons, colored pictures and cute vanity pieces by Michael Lewis and Joel Stein mean so much less that actually needs to be read and digested.

What have you done with the real Michael Kinsley -- you know, the intelligent, articulate journalist? Please bring him back and stop turning the Opinion into another piece of fluff.

Joel Stein is a delightfully funny and insightful writer and I am glad to see you have included his work “As Good as Lorenzo Lamas, Better Than the Goo Goo Dolls” in last week’s Opinion section. With so much Sturm und Drang in other columns, it is a relief to be able to laugh out loud for a moment.
