Dynalook Takes to Dirt Again

Share

In 10 starts on turf, Dynalook has one victory and one third -- but she has done well in one try on the main track for owner-breeder Dan Agnew and trainer Jerry Fanning.

On Dec. 31, the daughter of Dynaformer rallied from well off the pace to prevail by a nose at odds of nearly 16-1.

Dynalook will try to keep her record over dirt perfect when she takes on six other fillies and mares in today’s seventh at Santa Anita.

She is the 9-2 fourth choice on Jeff Tufts’ morning line in the $52,000 optional claimer at 6 1/2 furlongs.

Argentinisima, who won over a wet fast track at Santa Anita on Jan. 2, is the 5-2 favorite. The 6-year-old Candy Stripes mare has won five of 14 on dirt.

Completing the field are Awesome Lady, who will be making her first start since Dec. 17, Sarasota, Dis Miss, Scarlett Memories and Borasca, who has won three times at Santa Anita and looms as the one to catch under jockey Alex Solis.

Race of the day: Bandit Nailhead, who just won Monday, is back quickly for trainer Mike Hushion in the eighth, a $44,000 allowance at 1 1/16 miles, at Aqueduct.

Apprentice Channing Hill will ride the 4-year-old Siphon colt, who won a restricted $30,000 claimer by three-quarters of a length as the 7-10 favorite three days ago. The race is part of a pick six with a carry-over of $34,817.

One for the road: Rufustheroadrunner gets a jockey change to Edgar Prado in the fifth at Gulfstream Park. Prado leads the jockey standings at the Florida track.
