U.N. Team Begins Inquiry Into Bombing

A United Nations fact-finding team began inquiries into the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
The U.N. Security Council had asked Secretary-General Kofi Annan to report urgently on “the circumstances ... of the assassination” in a Feb. 14 bombing that killed 17 others.
Hariri’s death fanned a controversy over the presence of Syrian troops in Lebanon, with some blaming Damascus for his death.
