Museum explores ‘Dora’s’ heritage
The world of television’s always-curious, always-helpful “Dora the Explorer” comes alive in a new exhibit at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan that emphasizes the animated preschooler’s Latino roots and her bilingual tongue.
It’s the first exhibit to feature Dora of TV’s Nickelodeon. She brings with her to the museum her adventurous pals, including Boots and her cousin Diego. Her bedroom, tree house and the nearby rain forest that are all familiar to Dora’s young fans have been re-created.
The Dora exhibit is likely to tour nationally after it leaves the New York city museum.
