Avalanche Hunt Ends After One Body Found
From Times Wire Reports
Authorities ended a large-scale search in the debris field of an avalanche near Park City and said a man whose body was found over the weekend was probably the lone victim.
“Right now, we believe that we have taken the one sole victim out of there,” Summit County Sheriff Dave Edmunds said.
Initial eyewitness accounts had led authorities to believe that as many as five people had been caught in the slide. The body of Shane Maixner, 27, of Sandpoint, Idaho, was recovered Sunday with the help of trained dogs.
