From Times Staff and Wire Reports

California’s only tribal college may be in its last days after losing its accreditation.

The Western Assn. of Schools and Colleges, which grants accreditation, informed D-Q University officials this week that the two-year school no longer can grant degrees or offer course credits that students can transfer to other schools.

The agency warned D-Q University in June that it must fix several problems, including financial mismanagement, unstable leadership and a declining enrollment of Indian students. The college was founded in 1971.
