The Motion Picture Assn. of America said it had filed a second round of copyright-infringement lawsuits against individuals who trade movies over file-sharing networks.

The group did not disclose how many individuals were being sued or the amount of damages sought.

In the first round, filed in mid-November, the studios brought at least a dozen actions against more than 220 unnamed individuals, seeking up to $150,000 per movie offered on a file-sharing network.
