Wildlife officials have shot and killed a mountain lion that was feasting on a family’s goat.

The mountain lion, estimated at 80 to 90 pounds, was 30 yards from a home in a rural area when a game warden approached it Tuesday. The warden tried to scare it off with floodlights and loud noise, but the animal responded by putting its ears back, snarling and crouching in an aggressive manner.

“It didn’t show any fear,” said Mark Mazon, a father of two who owns the property where the mountain lion was shot. “It kept eating and sat there just looking at us. It had no intention of leaving.”
