Alaska Air Posts Wider Loss on Fuel Costs

Alaska Air Group Inc., parent of Alaska Airlines, said its fourth-quarter loss more than doubled to $44.9 million as fuel costs climbed 68%.
The net loss widened to $1.66 a share from $16.1 million, or 60 cents a share, a year earlier, the Seattle-based company said. Sales rose 7% to $656 million.
Alaska Air shares rose 41 cents to $29.04 on the NYSE.
