Man Wanted in 2000 Slaying Is Arrested

A fugitive who fled to Mexico has been arrested and returned to Sacramento, nearly five years after a car salesman was fatally shot, authorities said Thursday. Three men were arrested after the August 2000 slaying of Thomas Buchholz, 49, of Lincoln, Calif. The fourth, Alejandro Santana, now 25, was arrested Wednesday in Mexico City. He had been considered Sacramento’s most-wanted fugitive.
