Qualcomm Sues Broadcom Over Patents

Wireless technology company Qualcomm Inc. said it was suing chip maker Broadcom Corp. for alleged patent infringement in the latest of a series of legal disputes between the two companies.
In the suit, filed in federal court in San Diego, Qualcomm charges that Broadcom violated seven of its patents, which Qualcomm considers “essential” to the manufacturing standards of certain cellular and wireless network equipment.
Broadcom did not respond to a request for comment.
