Ex-Sheriff Gets Prison Term on Fraud Charge

Former San Joaquin County Sheriff T. Baxter Dunn was sentenced Tuesday to six months in federal prison and six months of home confinement on a federal fraud charge stemming from his secret financial interest in a power plant at the Port of Stockton.
Dunn, 58, faced up to 24 months in prison but received a lesser penalty because he pleaded guilty in January and cooperated with prosecutors.
