From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Former San Joaquin County Sheriff T. Baxter Dunn was sentenced Tuesday to six months in federal prison and six months of home confinement on a federal fraud charge stemming from his secret financial interest in a power plant at the Port of Stockton.

Dunn, 58, faced up to 24 months in prison but received a lesser penalty because he pleaded guilty in January and cooperated with prosecutors.
