Expert Finds No Signs That Animal Killed Boy
A forensic anthropologist who inspected the recently discovered bones of 9-year-old David Gonzalez found no evidence the child was the victim of an animal attack.
The bones were found last week about one mile southwest of the Big Bear area campsite where the boy disappeared in July after telling his mother he was going to get some cookies from the family pickup truck. Authorities said the area where the remains were found indicated that he was killed by a mountain lion.
“We still suspect that,” said Robin Haynal, a San Bernardino County sheriff’s spokeswoman.
