Mayor Signs Women’s ‘Potty Parity’ Measure

From Times Wire Reports

A woman’s place isn’t in a long restroom line, New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg said before signing the so-called potty parity bill at City Hall.

The legislation requires new public buildings -- such as movie theaters, stadiums and bars -- and those undergoing major renovations to install twice the number of toilets in the women’s restroom than in the men’s.

“This bill brings parity to restrooms across the city, which will speed women through bathrooms and reduce waiting-around time for their male companions, which is where I come in,” Bloomberg said.
