Cargo Plane Crashes on Fort Lauderdale Street

A World War II-era DC-3 cargo plane crashed shortly after takeoff and burned in the middle of a street in a Fort Lauderdale neighborhood, authorities said. All three people on board survived. Two people were injured on the ground, one seriously.
Though hospitalized, the three men from the plane were sitting up and talking on their cellphones hours after the crash, hospital spokeswoman Maria Soldani said. They were listed in fair condition.
