Renovations in Morro Bay

The campground at Morro Bay State Park just received a sprucing up in time for summer.
The park was developed during the Works Progress Administration era of the 1930s, but no significant improvements have been made since. The 140 campsites are wedged between the bay, mountains and an 800-acre marsh.
The improvements include new toilets and showers, repairs to stone stoves and new landscaping to improve scenery and privacy, says park spokesman Nick Franco.
The 2,700-acre state park features the largest saltwater estuary on the California coast that is home to herons, snowy egrets and other wildlife.
