Bush Nominates Chief of Naval Operations
From Times Wire Reports
Adm. Michael Mullen has been nominated by President Bush to become the next chief of naval operations, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld said.
Mullen, commander of U.S. naval forces in Europe and head of NATO’s Allied Joint Force Command in Naples, Italy, would replace Adm. Vern Clark as the Navy’s top officer.
