A 48-year-old Oxnard woman died Wednesday from injuries after she was struck by a Metrolink train, authorities said Thursday.
Rose Ann Canton-Norberg and her husband, Tim Norberg, 42, were walking along the railroad tracks near Oxnard Boulevard and Esplanade Drive about 6 p.m. Wednesday when they were hit by a northbound commuter train, said James Baroni, a senior deputy coroner’s investigator. “They tried to get out of the way,” he said.
Canton-Norberg was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, where she later died from multiple blunt-force injuries, Baroni said.
Norberg was taken to Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura, where he was listed in stable condition on Thursday.
