Governor Declares Drought Emergency

Gov. Christine Gregoire, girding for the region’s worst drought in decades, declared a statewide drought emergency.
Gregoire said in Olympia she has been watching the situation for weeks and decided to declare the emergency and gear up the state government to help farmers and to prepare for possible wildfires.
