Southwest Follows Rivals in Raising Fares

Southwest Airlines Co. joined other major U.S. carriers in raising fares because of higher fuel prices.
Southwest boosted fares $2 to $6 per round trip, a spokeswoman said.
Bigger rivals AMR Corp.’s American Airlines, Northwest Airlines Corp. and other carriers raised fares $20 on Friday, their second such increase in two weeks.
