Trickle-Down Theory on Mock News Videos

Share

Re “Aides Concede More Mock News Videos,” March 10: Doesn’t anyone else see how the dangerous precedent begun by the Bush administration is spreading and becoming commonplace among Republicans? One wonders if Karl Rove has lent his expertise to Arnold or his political advisors. This is a war of propaganda that is becoming more brazen, more costly to the American taxpayers directly and indirectly.

It’s costly directly because Bush and Schwarzenegger are using our money to promote themselves politically and costly indirectly because the people will have to pay somehow to get impartial accounting of politicians.

That Schwarzenegger is brazenly using our money to promote himself indicates that the revelations about the Bush-Rove videos paid for by taxpayers have not discouraged the governor from doing the same.

Why in the world shouldn’t the governor use taxpayer money to make mock news videos? When people elect a leader because he’s good at pretending to be a killer robot, they deserve to be mocked.
