Mama did allow lip-synching

KCET had a show on the Mamas and the Papas the other night. During one of the group’s performances, Cass Elliot said, “Roll tape!” Virtually all of their singing in the PBS documentary was lip-synched. But they didn’t hide it.

If Ashlee Simpson had said “Roll tape!” she wouldn’t have gotten into trouble.
