Blake Speculates About Wife’s Killer
In an interview after his murder-trial acquittal, actor Robert Blake theorized that his wife’s killer could be someone she defrauded in her mail-order pornography business.
“She led that kind of life, where she made a lot of enemies and somebody ... somebody whose father was taken for a ride or something like that,” Blake told ABC’s Barbara Walters in an interview to be broadcast today.
A jury acquitted Blake, 71, last Wednesday of first-degree murder and one count of solicitation in the May 4, 2001, killing of Bonny Lee Bakley, 44. Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Darlene E. Schempp dismissed a second solicitation count after the panel voted 11 to 1 for acquittal.
