at Ivar?

There’s a whole lotta shaking going on at Ivar, the high-end disco on Hollywood Boulevard. Original partners Rick Calamaro and Eric Weitzman have teamed with Mike Bong and Tom Rizo (who bought out previous partners Alan Nathan and Anton Posniak). We hear they may open it as two separate clubs in May. Stay tuned.... Things are smoldering at El Centro in Hollywood on Thursday nights. Last week, Cris Judd was literally dancing up the walls, showing Melissa Rivers choreographer routines from the ‘80s. Such cool cats as supermodel Tyson Beckford, Blink-182/Transplants drummer Travis Barker and actors Jesse Metcalfe and Efren Ramirez were also digging the scene.... History in the making at the Viper Room on Tuesday, as it celebrates 50 years of rock with a performance by the Comets, Bill Haley’s original band. Their lead guitarist, Franny Beecher, is 83. That so rocks.

An Indie spirit

Chatted up musician-director Rob Zombie, who can now add DJ to his repertoire. The horrormeister just took over Henry Rollins’ gig at Indie 103.1 from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays and is spinning hard-core rock, featuring lots of former L.A. club bands like Guns ‘N Roses, and lightweight piffle (the Osmonds, anyone?). He even allows his pug dog Dracula to chose the pick of the week (for the record, Dracula favors Willy Wonka’s “Oompa Loompa” song). “My show’s the equivalent of a sleazy drive-in theater on the wrong side of the town,” says Zombie, whose latest movie, “The Devil’s Rejects,” opens July 22. He’ll also swing through L.A. on the Ozzfest tour in August.... A little birdie tells us the folks who bought Deep at Hollywood and Vine plan to reopen in May under the name Basque, and we also hear the folks who brought us Garden of Eden are plotting a new nightclub called Mood.... So if you’re living in downtown L.A. and you’ve got a thirst for liquor, who you gonna call? The Golden Gopher, of course. The popular bar now delivers alcohol.... And speaking of downtown, the Golden Gopher’s sister bar, Broadway Bar, is getting ready for its May close-up. And already being plotted? The next watering hole: Seven Grand, which will open later this year.

Finding a new house

With 1650 (formerly Vynyl) closed for renovations, its popular Sunday night house party, Deep, is looking for a new home. If you wanna get your “house” fix in the meantime, we hear King King’s Saturday night dance party is the spot.... Friday, Playboy titan Hugh Hefner is having a pre-birthday party at Guys on Beverly Boulevard. Rock on daddy-o.
