Creative solutions for garden ‘pests’

Share

I didn’t respond to the first article about the garden pests [“Sssssolutions That Are So Repelling,” April 14], but I must respond to the sequel [“Some Pests Are Still Undeterred,” April 21]. We have happily coexisted with rabbits in our yard for years. We have many beautiful plants and flowers, entirely unbitten.

Our secret? Every morning we put out air-popped popcorn for the bunnies to eat. We enjoy watching them, and our “regulars” have names. They have become quite tame, even running up to us as we put the popcorn out. We buy the large bags at the warehouse stores, so our solution is as inexpensive as it is enjoyable. By the way, we are not overrun with rabbits. Nature seems to manage the numbers very well.
