The Many Requirements to Be a Registered Nurse

Share

Re “College Prep Mandate,” letters, May 30: When I earned my registered nurse license in California, anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, physics, pathophysiology and statistics plus several additional classes were required prerequisites before submitting an application to nursing school. There was a multitude of additional course requirements when I earned my BRN. Other nurses choose to go on for MSN and PhDs in nursing.

These are hardly the requirements of a truck driver. Many refer to themselves as nurses but are not registered nurses. Your letter writer needs to do a little more research.
