He also hosted “To Tell the Truth,” “Get Golf With the PGA Tour!” and “The National Dog Show,” presented on NBC as a 2003 Thanksgiving special.

Cape Cod style in a Malibu setting

Sandy Gallin, a successful producer who left the entertainment business to follow his passion of redoing houses, has sold his Malibu home for about $30 million.

Gallin, a producer of “Father of the Bride”(1991) and its 1995 sequel as well as more than two dozen other movies and thousands of hours of TV, including “Buffy, the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel,” totally rebuilt the home. He has remodeled more than 30 houses, including homes in Beverly Hills, Malibu and the Hamptons.

The Malibu home is Cape Cod in style and has a private beach. There are six bedrooms and eight bathrooms in 9,300 square feet.

Gallin also has managed Cher, Mariah Carey, Barbra Streisand and Dolly Parton.

Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency, Beverly Hills, had the listing with June Scott of Coldwell Banker, Beverly Hills, and Chris Cortazzo of Coldwell Banker, Malibu West.

Vegas high-rise for pop ‘newlyweds’

Pop singers Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson, costars of the MTV reality show “Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica,” have agreed to buy a $1.2-million furnished condo that will be built as part of the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The one-bedroom, 1,200-square-foot unit will be in a 50-story condo tower and spa, to be called Palms Place. The high-rise is expected to break ground in 2006, with completion in 2007. Palms Place will be connected to the Palms Hotel and Casino by an elevated, moving walkway. The tower will have a private, gated entry, a pool and a spa.

Lachey, 31, and Simpson, 24, just completed the third and final season of their newlywed series. Both now are recording solo albums. A professional recording studio is planned as part of the tower.

Lachey will appear on his own MTV show this summer called “The Nick Lachey Project.” Simpson will appear in the movie “The Dukes of Hazzard,” due to be released June 24. She plans to launch a clothing and accessories line in the fall.

Pasadena area is her cup of tea now

Tia Carrere, best known for her movie roles in “Wayne’s World” (1992) and “True Lies” (1994), has put her home bachelorette pad in the hills of West Hollywood on the market for about $1.5 million.

Carrere has lived in the home for a dozen years. She plans to move with her husband, photojournalist Simon Wakelin, to a larger, family home in the Pasadena area.

Carrere, 38, is planning to work on a sequel to the movie “Lilo & Stitch” and the miniseries “Supernova.” She will appear alongside Ving Rhames and Ja Rule in the TV drama “Back in the Day,” scheduled to premiere Friday on BET.

David Kramer of Hilton & Hyland, Beverly Hills, has the listing.
