Teaching Assistants’ Contract Gets Early OK
From Times Staff Reports
The union representing 6,000 teaching assistants tentatively agreed on a three-year contract late Wednesday with the 23-campus California State University system, averting a strike.
The contract is the first between the university and the California Alliance of Academic Student Employees/United Auto Workers.
The guild, which represents teaching associates, graduate assistants and instructional student assistants, was recognized by Cal State for the first time in September.
