A Proposal: Do Away With State’s Legislators

Share

Re “Special Election Ballot Taking Shape,” May 11: Whether or not I agree with big business, the unions or our governor, we have to go to the ballot boxes to do what our elected officials haven’t done because they are either too afraid of losing financial supporters or too lazy or too busy trying to keep the other party from winning points. I never thought I would propose that we eliminate the state Assembly and state Senate. Let’s just have everything voted upon by the citizens. The cost of having yearly, or semiannual elections, has got to be cheaper than paying those people for doing nothing.
