Maryland Senator Faints at Colleague’s Funeral

Sen. Paul S. Sarbanes fainted in Newark while attending a funeral for former Rep. Peter Rodino Jr., a colleague during the Watergate investigation.
Sarbanes, a 72-year-old Maryland Democrat, briefly passed out toward the end of the service and had to be helped from the church by first-aid workers.
Sarbanes was listed in fair condition at a hospital and was to remain there overnight.
