Newport’s Blomberg Is 1 of 3 Judge Appointees
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Thursday appointed three Orange County lawyers, including the mayor of Newport Beach, to replace retired judges on the Orange County Superior Court.
Mayor Steven D. Blomberg, 61, of Newport Beach, who has been in private practice since 1971, was appointed to the bench. He has been on the City Council since 2000 and is currently mayor.
Also appointed were former Anaheim prosecutor Erick L. Larsh, 47, who has been a court commissioner since 1997, and Randall J. Sherman, 50, a civil litigator.
