Chevron Says It Will Cut 550 Jobs in Acquisition

Chevron Corp. said it had identified 550 jobs to be eliminated after its $17.3-billion acquisition of independent oil and gas producer Unocal this summer.
In a quarterly report filed with securities regulators, Chevron said that most of the jobs were executive and administrative positions.
Chevron said it expected to complete the post-merger restructuring and reorganization by the end of 2006.
