Reasons to vote in the special election

Re “Voters Dislike 3 of Governor’s Ballot Measures,” Nov. 2

For the first time in my 44 years of living in California, we have an election in which I can, in good conscience, vote “no” on everything -- a clean sweep and perfect chance to tell Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to stuff it and politicians to get back to work.

There is not a single redeeming proposition on the ballot, and this election is a complete waste of time and money. Let’s go, people. Send the right message. N.O.E.: No on everything.

Re “Gov. Aims to Get Out Vote Selectively,” Nov. 1

Your article quoted Republican leaders as hoping for a low voter turnout. That is inexcusable; not voting is inexcusable. There are enough people on the planet who don’t even have the right to vote. We shame ourselves before them when we don’t exercise the right we have. And by the way, if you don’t vote, don’t waste our precious oxygen complaining about politics, government or any other issues out there.
