GOP Senators Block Springsteen Resolution

From Times Wire Reports

Bruce Springsteen famously was “born in the USA,” but the veteran rocker from New Jersey is getting scorned in the U.S. Senate.

An effort by New Jersey’s two senators, both Democrats, to honor Springsteen was shot down by Republicans who are apparently still miffed a year after the Boss lent his voice to the campaign of Democratic presidential candidate John F. Kerry.

The resolution, introduced by Sens. Frank R. Lautenberg and Jon Corzine, honored Springsteen’s long career and his iconic 1975 album, “Born to Run.” GOP leaders refused to bring the measure up for consideration.
