What has happened to the beloved hockey of my youth? I open the sports page and discover that a King is being fined by the league ... for falling on purpose! And this same player had to say he was sorry for saying unsavory things!
What would the league do if the old Philadelphia Flyers were playing today? I guarantee there would be a lot of apologizing going on.

Sean Avery played 36 games for the 2001-02 Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings. The next season he was traded to the Kings for character guy Mathieu Schneider.
