Leader Sacks Cabinet After Charter Vote

Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki fired his Cabinet a day after voters rejected a proposed constitution.
Kibaki’s championing of the charter deeply split his ruling coalition and opponents in and out of his government helped turn Monday’s constitutional poll into a referendum on his nearly three years in office.
Many opponents to the draft charter had said it failed to curb the vast powers of the presidency.
