Panthers End 12-Game Losing Streak

Olli Jokinen had the first hat trick of his career, scoring twice during Florida’s four-goal first period at Sunrise, Fla., and the Panthers ended a 12-game losing streak with a 6-3 win over Pittsburgh.

Kristian Huselius, Gary Roberts and Stephen Weiss also scored for Florida, which avoided tying the franchise record for consecutive losses.

Ziggy Palffy, Sidney Crosby and Erik Christensen had goals for Pittsburgh.

Colorado 5, Columbus 0 -- Marek Svatos had a goal and two assists at Columbus, Ohio, to help the Avalanche hand the Blue Jackets their seventh straight loss.

New Jersey 8, Tampa Bay 2 -- Viktor Kozlov had a goal and four assists, and the Devils routed the Lightning at Tampa, Fla.

Minnesota 5, St. Louis 3 -- Pierre-Marc Bouchard scored twice for the Wild in the last five minutes at St. Paul, Minn.

Phoenix 4, Dallas 1 -- Curtis Joseph stopped 32 shots at Dallas for his 406th victory, and the Coyotes ended the Stars’ five-game winning streak.

Buffalo 3, Montreal 1 -- Martin Biron made 40 saves to lift the Sabres at Buffalo, N.Y.

Philadelphia 5, Boston 3 -- Peter Forsberg scored two goals to lift the Flyers at Boston.

Edmonton 2, Calgary 1 -- Fernando Pisani had the deciding goal in a shootout at Calgary, Canada.
