Roommate Held in Man’s Slaying
A 26-year-old man was arrested Saturday in the slaying last month of a roommate in Huntington Beach, police said.
Vladimir Benitez surrendered in North Hollywood to Huntington Beach police, who took him into custody. He was booked on suspicion of murder.
The victim, Camilo Martinez, 32, was discovered dead Oct. 31 in an apartment in the 17300 block of Keelson Lane after officers responded to a call that someone had been stabbed.
Martinez was lying in the living room with stab wounds, police said. He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he died.
A knife was recovered at the apartment.
Police said the motive for the killing was being investigated.
