Hurricane Vince Seen Moving Toward Europe
From Associated Press
MIAMI —
Hurricane Vince formed Sunday in the far eastern Atlantic, but was moving away from the United States and posed no immediate threat to land, the National Hurricane Center here said.
The Category 1 Vince is the 11th hurricane of the season.
“It’s headed for Spain. It’s not going to reach there. It will likely merge with a cold front,” said Richard Pasch, a specialist at the center.
Forecasters said Vince would begin weakening today and was mainly a hazard for ships in the eastern Atlantic.
