U.S. Evangelical Mission Ordered to Leave
From Times Wire Reports
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez ordered a U.S.-based evangelical mission working with indigenous groups to leave the country after accusing it of “imperialist infiltration” and spying.
“It’s real imperialist infiltration -- the CIA, they are taking sensitive and strategic information, and besides they exploit our indigenous people,” Chavez said of the New Tribes Mission.
He did not say when the mission would have to leave and offered no proof of his allegations.
