Attacks Kill Cleric and 2 Police Officers

Insurgents killed a pro-government cleric and two policemen and blew up eight fuel tankers outside a U.S.-led coalition base in attacks nationwide.
The blast at Kandahar Airfield killed no one. Hours earlier, militants ambushed a convoy near Kandahar, killing two officers, police said. In Khowst province, a mosque bombing killed cleric Mohammed Khan.
