Disabled Man Helps Rescue Wife From Well
A woman who fell into a well while trying to rescue her dog was pulled to safety along with the dog after her disabled husband crawled down a hill to call for help, officials said in Livermore Falls.
Michael Longley, 46, found his 38-year-old wife, Angela, and their dog in the abandoned well after he had driven his pickup truck to search for them, Fire Chief Ken Jones said.
But the pickup truck got stuck and Michael Longley, who has cerebral palsy and is recovering from a broken leg, had to crawl back to their home to dial 911.
