A fire set by fighting inmates raged through a prison cellblock in Magdalena, Argentina, killing 32 prisoners, authorities said. The warden and another prison worker were injured in the disturbance.

All the deaths appeared to have been caused by smoke inhalation, said provincial Justice Minister Eduardo Di Rocco.

Speaking at the prison southeast of Buenos Aires, Di Rocco said it was unclear what had caused the disturbance.
