Islanders Put End to Streak
Miroslav Satan beat Henrik Lundqvist for the only goal of the shootout to give the New York Islanders a 3-2 victory over the Rangers on Wednesday night at New York, their first win in the local rivalry in 11 games.
Satan also had a goal in regulation.
Rick DiPietro, back in goal after suffering a concussion last week and sitting out a loss to Philadelphia on Saturday night, made 33 saves for the Islanders.
The Islanders were swept by the Rangers in six games in 2003-04 and were 0-8-2 in their previous 10 meetings.

Minnesota 6, San Jose 1 -- Manny Fernandez made 34 saves, and five Wild players scored goals in the third period to defeat the Sharks at St. Paul, Minn.
