A Noise Within eyes Pasadena

A Noise Within, Glendale’s primary theater company, is planning a move to Pasadena, after accepting an offer from developer David Worrell to move to a former pharmaceutical facility at the corner of Sierra Madre Villa Avenue and Foothill Boulevard.

The new space, more than 40,000 square feet, will more than double the size of the classical company’s quarters at a former Masonic temple. It also offers more parking possibilities than either of two downtown lots the city of Glendale had suggested.

A Noise Within -- A Quick Takes item in Thursday’s Calendar Weekend section referred to David Worrell as the developer who has offered space to A Noise Within, Glendale’s primary theater company, for a new theater in Pasadena. The name of his business partner, Jeff Allen, was omitted.

Julia Rodriguez Elliott, one of the company’s artistic directors, said the final terms of Worrell’s transmittal of the property haven’t been settled, but it could involve a donation or a long-term, low-cost lease.

A Noise Within will have to raise the money to transform the Pasadena building into a 300-seat-plus theater with storage space, classrooms and offices, so it will probably remain in Glendale for several years.
