White House cabal is not the only choice

Share

In his Op-Ed piece, “The White House cabal” (Opinion, Oct. 25), Lawrence Wilkerson ends by saying that any day he would prefer “a frustrating bureaucracy to an efficient cabal.” Like that’s the only choice? A true democracy with a free and educated public would not have to settle for such extremes. In fact, either one indicates that the people have lost or given up control over their public affairs and, in either case, are bound to suffer. Why does Wilkerson, himself a former government official, so narrowly limit the choices when he must know better?
