All about oil
Re “Taking Aim at Oil’s Riches,” Oct. 26
It’s no coincidence that since oilmen George W. Bush and Dick Cheney have ruled Washington, Big Oil has reaped obscene profits. Add to that the energy bill Bush signed into law that gives Big Oil billions of our taxpayer dollars. And finish it off with the fact that the Republicans are now inviting oil and gas companies to fill the West’s most beautiful places with tens of thousands of new drilling rigs and poison our air with massive new refineries.
Heaven forbid Bush should force Detroit to make meaningful fuel-economy increases, thereby depriving his oil buddies and Arabian sheiks!
