Leads sought in Knight shooting

Miami Beach police detectives still have “no new leads and no new information” on the shooting of Marion “Suge” Knight, the rap mogul who suffered a leg injury in a hotel’s crowded night club in the coastal city on Aug. 28, a police spokesman said this week. Knight was released from the hospital last week after undergoing surgery for the wound he suffered at a party for rapper Kanye West at the Shore Club Hotel.
The room where the shooting occurred was crowded, but police have found very little in the way of witness accounts. In the history of rap music, Knight has been a central figure in some of the most violent chapters.
Early on, police said they were looking at several scenarios, including ones in which Knight may have accidentally been shot by himself or one of his associates. Miami Beach Police spokesman Bobby Hernandez said the theory of a self-inflicted injury does not appear credible.
